Timber, harvest, and livestock schedules do not look like a salary. Indexed universal life is one option logging and farm workers ask about when they want coverage past a single season. Equipment in the woods or on the farm is a duty description carriers care about.

Indexed universal life (IUL) is permanent life insurance. Interest credited to the cash value can be linked to a market index, with caps, floors, and charges set by the carrier. It is not an investment. A licensed agent explains cash value, costs, and limits. Underwriting varies by job and by carrier. A hazardous job is not a promise of coverage.

Income that does not arrive every Friday

  • Seasonal checks with equipment notes that bill every month
  • Crew, contract, or family-farm arrangements with no group life insurance
  • Logging versus general farm work, which are not the same application
  • A co-signer on a truck or implement who is also the person at home

Logging and farm questions

Are loggers and farm hands in the same occupational class?
Do not count on it. Felling timber, driving a chip truck, and working a row-crop season can be three different answers. Say what you did last month.
The equipment is in the farm's name. Does my family still have a stake?
If someone at home depends on that income or signed for the debt, yes, it belongs in the conversation. TruckLife does not sort out ownership. An agent asks what would still be due.
Can a policy be built only around the busy season?
Premiums are usually scheduled for the year, not the harvest. If cash flow is seasonal, tell the agent before anyone picks an amount.
